Dominos

This is Gideon. He is the happiest and funniest kid around. Just looking at him makes me laugh. His first word was happy and he is always smiling.Everyone loves giddy. Gideon probably has more nicknames than anyone. They are Giddy,Diddy,Didieon,Dede,G giddy,Diddles,Gid,Gid gidoni,you get the picture. Any way I like to label and organize stuff.One day when Giddy got up from nap he had apparently been playing and not sleeping. He had taken the label off of the dominos and had labeled himself and came out and said" look mama." I dont know why but I thought it was the funniest thing.

Ammon's first haircut

On Saturday I decided to cut little Ammon's hair for the first time. It makes me so sad when I cut babies hair for the first time. Before Ammon was born I had a dream about rubbing his soft hair on my cheek. When he was born it was just like my dream. So I did not want to cut it but it was looking splotchy and pretty bad so I had to do it. He looks like such a big boy now. I cant believe how big he is already. It takes so long to get them here but time flies once they are.So here are the pictures of Ammon's first haircut.

We have a tradition in the Hawkins family on the Saturday before Easter we go to Nanny's Easter party . Nanny throws such great parties for the kids. There is always a lot of food and a lot of fun.


It is the tradition that every one is supposed to where an Easter bonnet(hat) to the party. We start the party in the front yard playing games with papa while nanny is finishing up. We continue into the back yard for an Easter egg hunt and to find their Easter baskets. papa hides money in some of the eggs, Hannah likes to get the ones with money in them. After the kids have found their baskets we have our Easter tea party(eat). The kids and sometimes the dads have a water gun fight for the afternoon. We always have a lot of fun and go home exhausted and full from a long day.


The Easter bunny found us again this year. The kids got outfits, shampoo,church movies and some candy. Gideon ate chocolate all morning long so needless to say by the time we got to church he was out of control. I wrestled Gid the whole time at church, while trying to keep Ben and Sol from playing around. My threats of saying that dad is looking at you and your going to get in trouble aren't working that great any more. Sim wasn't feeling that great so after sacrament meeting I took him and Ammon home. When every body else got home we had our family Easter dinner and then watched willow. It was a nice relaxing Sunday .It was nice to have Chase home, he didn't have meetings because of Easter.

Sunday morning we decided to go to California for Spring Break. It only took us about two hours to get us all packed up. It was actually easier than when I know in advance that we are going somewhere. I did not have time to get worried about stuff and I did not take all week preparing to go. It was a lot simpler doing it spur of the moment It was a much needed break. The beach is the most relaxing place for me. I enjoy just siting there and doing nothing, while the kids are entertained. the first night when we got there we ordered room service, I think the kids thought it was the greatest thing they have ever done. The rest of the week we went to the beach every day and went out to eat and we did a little shopping. On Monday night we went to visit uncle Gaylan , Aunt Heidi.,Kelly, Amy ,and Dave ,and there two little boys Simon and Sam. For family night we celebrated St. Patrick's Day. Heidi had cooked corned beef and cabbage for dinner. We love visiting the Anderson's. It was a lot of fun. I am so thankful that We got the break.
